Technical foam – application
Polyethylene – many of us may not be aware of the fact that it is a plastic we encounter every day, for example, shopping bags and various types of packaging are made out of it. It is a material which chemical composition consists of hydrogen and carbon. An interesting fact is that it was first synthesized by the German chemist von Pechman in 1898. This accidental discovery revolutionized the way we pack products today (for more information on polyethylene foam, see the polyethylene foam section in our offer).
One of the materials made of polyethylene is technical foam. In the packaging industry, this product is considered an excellent alternative to polystyrene. Why? First of all, the foam structure – more delicate than polystyrene allows for better protection of delicate items. It is resistant to moisture, durable and usually takes up less space.
Packing electronics – technical foam
Technical foam is perfect for packing electronics. In the era of the growing popularity of online shopping (do you know that more than half of Polish internet users already shop online?), Good practices in packaging products may turn out to be crucial for everyone who deals with e-commerce – not only on the consumer electronics and household appliances market.
However, product packaging is not the only use of technical foam. It is a great insulating material – successfully used in the construction industry to insulate floors and walls. It is worth adding that polyethylene foam also has soundproofing properties – musicians who dream about their own recording studio certainly know something about it!
To sum up – technical foam is very versatile in use. It allows for safe transport of delicate items, warms and calms. And at the same time, it is completely safe for humans and, thanks to the recycling option, environmentally friendly.
